Over the last 15 years, Richard Hays has been involved in most major developments in medical education within Australian general practice and rural medicine. In 1999, he lead the establishment of a new medical school at James Cook University, where primary care has played a major role in the curriculum. He has taught as Visiting Professor in both the USA and UK and from 2006, is working in the UK at Keele University helping a medical school develop a new curriculum. Throughout his career Richard has sought to find ways to make medical education more enjoyable and effective.
